THE APOGEE DIFFERENCE

Apogee Clark County is a full-time Socratic learning center for young leaders, and it is much more!

Real World Learning: We endeavor to create a microcosm of the real world through mixed age groups, individualized academics, mentorship, focusing on creating healthy habits, character-based leadership development, project-based learning, and fostering a growth mindset that will carry young leaders far in life.

Education For The Entire Family: Every mom and dad is enrolled into Apogee Man and Apogee Woman along with their child's full-time enrollment. Apogee Man and Woman are 12-month intensive self-development and mentorship programs wherein mom and dad get access to weekly mentorship calls with some of the very best in the world in the arenas of business, sports, military leadership, ministry, and more. Each month has a particular focus with projects in personal development that include leadership, finances and estate planning, faith, mindset, health and nutrition, marriage, and parenthood. Parents are the primary influencers and educators of their kids. Parents are the first curriculum for their kids. Parents who are growing amplify their kids' development and growth.

A Focus On The Things That Really Matter: In a world that is rapidly changing, one-size-fits-all education is not the answer for the next generation of leaders need. We can do better for them and we are. We are solutions-oriented and focused on developing the meta skills, which are the fundamental skills required for one to thrive in any environment. These are things like the ability to communicate well with other human beings both verbally and in writing, the ability to articulate what one believes and why he believes it, being skilled in remaining physically, mentally, and emotionally healthy, critical thinking, problem solving, resourcefulness, personal responsibility, financial literacy.

A Culture Of Excellence: It's in our name! Apogee is the apex, the highest point, or the summit. That's what we are pursuing, and we are doing it as individuals and as a community running together. We are calling each other forward to the highest and best versions of ourselves. We are a community made up of young people, moms and dads, men and women who are committed to living by a set of objective values as we cultivate our unique strengths in service to others.

What does a typical day look like for the kids who attend full-time?

Monday-Friday, kids will attend our full-time learning program from 9:00am-3:00pm. Drop-off is 8:30am-9:00am and pick-up is 3:00pm-3:30pm.

Our daily schedule starts with a morning huddle, wherein our learners set personal goals for the day, review our Apogee Code, and open with a short prayer.

We jump right into our daily physical fitness activity after our morning huddle. After a cool-down and snack, we typically have independent reading for our older learners and read to our younger learners.

The rest of the morning is focused on individualized academics from about 10:30am until lunch at noon. Lunch and outdoor play is from noon-1pm.

The afternoons from 1:00pm-2:30pm are reserved for our project-based learning. We have 7 project-based sessions throughout the program year, each lasting about 4-5 weeks. These are centered around developing real world skills, entrepreneurship, health & wellness, what it means to live by a set of values, leadership mindset. Our project-based sessions are one of the most valuable, unique parts of our program.

Campus cleanup and closing huddle is from 2:30pm-3pm.

Pick-up is from 3:00pm-3:30pm.

Do you have teachers?

We utilize a Socratic learning approach implemented by coaches rather than teachers. Our coaches are capable, well-equipped, and receive ongoing training to best meet the needs and goals of each individual learner.

While academic excellence is a priority, lifelong learning driven by innate curiosity is the goal. In order to foster each child's innate curiosity and genius, critical thinking, and to maximize personal responsibility, we have intentionally moved away from a central authority in the classroom with a one-size-fits-all approach to education.

The outcomes from this format have been proven to be outstanding for all ages!

What ages and grades will be able to attend?

Apogee serves young leaders ages 5-18! We do not have grade levels because, honestly, it doesn't matter! Every child learns at a different pace, and every child is drawn to different subjects at different times.

Apogee Clark County has a multi-age learning environment divided into age-appropriate studios.

Is Apogee Clark County faith-based?

We are not connected to a denomination nor do we have or require a declaration of faith. We follow Christian ethics, function from a Christian worldview, and start every day in prayer. Our program is for any family that is comfortable with this and agrees to follow the Apogee Code: integrity, bravery, compassion, politeness, honesty, honor, loyalty.

Is Apogee Clark County a school?

Think of Apogee Clark County as a family leadership academy or a life gym that has a full-time Socratic learning center for young people ages 5-18. We are not a school, nor are we trying to replicate school. We are much more. More accurately, we are a full-time enrichment program for homeschool families.

Apogee is designed to empower learners with real-world skills that matter. We don't have desks, homework, grade levels, or grades. We focus on skill acquisition in areas that matter. We encourage individuals to find their passions and run with them while still acquiring the total package of valuable life skills needed to be successful in all facets of life.
